In year 8 the pupils will have a lesson a week for half a year, of ICT.
The main purpose will be to:
1. To continue the work started in year 7 on e-safety with a particular look at the use of mobile phones and cyber bullying, and to produce an information leaflet on the safe use of such technologies.
2. To develop further skills learnt with spreadsheets in looking at changing variables and formulas, within existing models.
3. To exchange information using e-mail.
In general, the main software packages are from the Microsoft Office 2007 suite of programs. { Ms Word, Ms Publisher, Ms Excel, Ms Access, Ms PowerPoint, Ms Photostory/Ms Movie Maker, and e-mail using Google Mail}
Where possible work from other subjects will overlap with work done during ICT lessons.
