The school follows the National Numeracy Strategy and part of each lesson will be devoted to learning and practising mental mathematic skills.
ASSESSMENT
As well as being assessed on their work during lessons, pupils will be expected to submit regular homework tasks. These could involve one or two short tasks of 20 to 30 minutes duration per week or, occasionally, one longer task lasting one or even two weeks. Normally, a short homework task should be submitted for marking in the lesson following the one in which it was set.
Pupils are tested prior to setting after a few weeks of the first term and have regularly termly assessments to check their progress. A further examination takes place at the end of the summer term to assess all work covered throughout the academ
